The Dalmeny Park house builders have installed new chicanes on NCN route 1. Unfortunately none of these meet the guidlines for chicanes on cycling facilities.

Hampshire County Council will "upgrade" the NCN23 between Chineham and Eastrop Park, and provide cycling improvements in Chineham Business Park between Crockford Lane and the roundabout.
Overview
Improvements into the existing route from Chineham to Town Centre for non-motorised users, focussing on the National Cycle Network.
Section 1 & 2
This route starts from Cufaude Lane along Hanmore Road in Chineham and finishes at Swing Swang Lane. The proposal is to upgrade existing cyclist access by improving crossing point, vegetation clearance, bollards replacement, directional signing and cycle making.
Section 3
This route starts from Crockford Lane goes over the railway line at the north side of Chineham Business Park, through the Business Park and ends at Crockford Lane roundabout. The proposal is to implement an advisory on road cycle facility, install on road cycle signage and cycle markings down to the existing toucan crossing and then linking to an off road cycle route to Popley Way near Crockford Lane roundabout.
Section 4
This is an existing footpath for pedestrian and cyclist in Eastop Park. The footpath starts at the subway under the A339 Ringway East through the park and ends at Eastrop Circus.
The main work is to resurface the footpath and convert it to a shared use footway/cycleway route. The existing route signing will be removed and replaced with new shared route signs, directional signing and bollards.

The NCN 5 route over Frodsham Marshes is very badly surfaced such that can only be used by proficient cyclists with MTBs. As a result most people use the unpleasant main road alternative on the A56.
An opportunity exists to get funding to surface this as a result of community funding from the Marshes Windfarm development. Closing date Feb 28.

There is no link from the NCN to the skate park on Kingholm Road. A shared use path from either or both ends of the NCN would be useful.

The stretch of NCN51 along Stourbridge Common between the Green Dragon Bridge and Riverside is hopelessly inadequate for the high volume of traffic, too narrow, surfacing badly breaking up with a number of hazards - rowing coaches, cows, joggers with headphones etc.
Would anyone else support campaigning for a new two way cycle path through that stretch of Stourbridge common to the south of the existing path (through the middle of that bit of common) from the Green Dragon Bridge to an improved access at Riverside, and leave the path by the river to its myriad of other users? Its only going to get busier when the new station opens...

The A92 here has some very fast traffic. Considering this is the flagship National Cycle Route 1, and there is already a cycle path of part of the way between these 2 junctions. It would be much better if this cycle path was continued to the next junction, with some crossing aid in the form of traffic lights, bridge or tunnel. This would open this part of the route to a wider range of participants, as it would be significantly safer.

The surface of the cycle path, which is also National Cycle Route 1 through Bourne Park is of an extremely poor quality. This really needs to have a smooth tarmac surface, and potentially widened.
I would expect kids to be learning to ride a bike along here, however that's not currently possible as its' touch going for an adult to cycle here never mind a child who is just learning to cycle. If this path is upgraded it would be even better if the surfacing was extended to create a circle around the park which is reasonably smooth, so that people can learn to cycle by cycling around this park.

Proposed route of NCN 15 from Trent bridge to Clifton, following the south bank of the river Trent. The idea under discussion is for the route to be temporarily signed by Sustrans volunteer rangers in the first instance. there are also plans to sign an NCN 15 to NCN6 link route via Wilford Toll, Birdcage walk, Lenton Lane, Abbey St. NCN15 from Clifton westwards to East Midlands parkway station can be signed once the A453 works are complete.

Following on from discussions with Ian K, this is the suggested alignment of the link route from NCN 15 to NCN 6 crossing the big track

The barrier in the photo blocks the route where NCN67 joins Storforth Road at the end of the Rother Washlands in Chesterfield.
Perhaps the council was trying to be safe here, but since it's not a well lit area, a cyclist travelling this way at night might well have a nasty accident flying over this barrier.

During the upcoming development of the former Catford Greyhound track Adenmore Road will be closed, thus closing the underpass under the South Circular, and forcing cyclists to use a much more dangerous route crossing the road.

The cycle lane on NCN1 on Stoke Park Drive are rather narrow, thus you cannot cycle within the cycle lane. Having the cycle lane there means drivers often don't give as much space when overtaking. There are also many traffic island pinch point which make it extremely dangerous, as drivers overtake and cut in just before the island.

Holywells Park has a section of cycle route 51 running through it, linking South East Ipswich to the centre with a pleasant and safe route down to the waterfront.
During Winter, the park is closed at dusk, sometimes as early as 4, meaning that just when the roads are most dangerous (dark and wet) cyclists are forced onto steep and busy routes either along Cliff Lane or up Bishops Hill.
The closures are largely at the request of the Park Friends group. I've spoken to them, and their concerns seem to be largely about what might go on after dark. It's not clear that there is any evidence for this, nor that the current situation of locking the main gates but leaving others would do anything to deter misbehaviour.
Keeping it open as a cycle route would ensure a legitimate presence in the park, and help provide less confident cyclists in the area with a safe route to and from town.
I'd propose either locking later, or for a trial period leaving the park unlocked.

There is a loading bay in the cycle contraflow cycle lane, which means that the cycle lane is blocked for cyclists as soon as a vehicle is parked there. This means that cyclists have to pull out into the path of oncoming buses, thus making the NCN route unsuitable to young children or inexperienced cyclists.

Is this really the best that Edinburgh can do for the flagship national cycle network route 1 to get it to cross Clerk Street? You have to go through a pile of bins, on to the pavement to get round a barrier and then try and judge it right to cross the road, or use the nearby pedestrian crossing.

The sign is pointing away from the path rather than towards it. Also the NCN 1 badge/number should have brackets as it is the direction towards NCN 1, and not the actual NCN 1 at that point.

This section of the flagship National Cycle Network Route 1 on entering Ipswich is of particularly poor quality. There are nettles, brambles and other bushes overgrowning the very rough and narrow path. Is this really the quality of cycling that we want to show to Dutch cyclists coming over from the Netherlands who would have expected there to be a tarmaced cycle path that's a couple of metres wide. There is space to here to place a good surface.
A section of the road now has a TRO restricting all motor vehicles without a VIP parking pass. Cycling is permitted on this section, but there are no signs to confirm this. The road still part of NCN55.
