  • Poor design at fire gate, The Bittoms, Kingston upon Thames

Created by Jon Fray // 1 thread

The design of the route at 'The Bittoms' allows cycling both ways. The 'shared use' signs on the lamp column are turned so not visible in the photo. The width of the access does not allow two cyclists to pass each other at this point and the alignment is difficulty because of the location of the tree and tree-pit. It would be better to remove the gate and replace it with removable bollards.

  • Gate too narrow

Created by Stephan Matthiesen // 1 thread

The entrance is very decorative but has a really narrow corner, so it is difficult to negotiate by bicycle when you've been shopping, and impossible for trailers. There is a desire line (mudpath) next to it, this could be converted to a proper path.

  • Remove gate

Created by Stephan Matthiesen // 0 threads

The gate at the top of the cycle path, at Lasswade road, is very difficult to open when you're on a bicycle, and it swings into to path.

It is not clear why a gate is needed here in the first place (the whole fence is quite pointless), it could be removed.

  • Cycle improvements for Fisk's Lane and Whitton Lane

Created by Shaun McDonald // 1 thread

There are 3 main problems with this cycle route which would be easy to rectify:
    * This cycle track is only signed from the retail park side, with no signage from the residential end of this link.
    * The surface is pretty poor along here, especially if you have some shopping in panniers.
    * There is also a problem with a gate part of the way along, which could pose a problem for people with a trailer or cargo bikes.

  • Gate on North Sea Cycle Route in Harwich

Created by Gary // 0 threads

Why would you put a gate across an official cycle route through the "Hangings" in Harwich, on the North Sea Cycle Route from Harwich International to Harwich Town? I've seen visitors from Europe try and cycle through this obstruction with trailers.

  • Modify bike-unfriendly gate on cycle-path 46

Created by Fraser Stephens // 0 threads

    RAISED AT PUBLIC MEETING 10-04-2014

The cycle gate at the underpass between Llanfoist and Abergavenny is poorly designed: Impossible to pass with a 2-seat bike trailer, and very tight for long bikes such as tandems.
