Cambridgeshire County Council have a project to upgrade the existing Girton-Oakington cycle path. The upgrade is planned between the northern end of Manor Farm Road in Girton and Mansell Farm in Oakington (start of 30 mph limit), between which the majority of the route will be widened to ~3 m. There are no real proposals to improve the junction with New Road.

The multiple barriers here achieve nothing. All that is needed is the fence adjacent to the carriageway, and even that is debatable (since the road ends here). However, they do make cycling at best difficult and at worst impossible. Cycling should be encouraged here as the path is next to a school. Cycling to school would improve the life-long health of the children, and reduce the numbers of "school run" cars parked in Teazel Avenue, engines idling.

The footpath has a very bad surface, and should also be a little bit wider.

This is a segregated off road path.
The plants along the marked section of the Penistone Road cycle path restrict the width of the path considerably and make it impossible for 2 cyclists to pass each other keeping in the cycle lane and forcing cyclists to take to the pedestrian half of the path.
There are also plants overhanging the pedestrian side which make pedestrians walk along the cycle half causing conflict.

Hills Rd, traffic waiting at lights, cyclist have hard time to filter forward because lane width, presence of buses, long red light period. Sense of obstacle and injustice high because of Bus/Bike Lane liberty in the approach.
