  • Vans Parking On Eastway cyclepaths

    Created by Owen E // 1 thread

During night hours 11pm-1am, dozens of vans pull up on the pavement and side roads blocking the cyclepath [Non-segregated footpath], before they go into the Spitalfields New Market.

They also often cause a hazard by lefthooking onto the different roads as they pull off easy way.

  • Parking blocking Cam Towpath entrance

Created by Anna Langley // 1 thread

This morning 17.5.2016, I found this car blocking the towpath entrance on Fen Road. If you see this again, please call the Police non-emergency number 101 and report it. Especially if it is this same red Citroën MV62 JXD.

  • Parking on the towpath entrance

Created by Anna Langley // 1 thread

A dropped kerb was created here to make it easier for cyclists (in particular) to get onto and off the towpath. Since then, and even more so since the demolition of the Penny Ferry pub, cars and vans have been using the space as a car park. Vehicles are parked there daily, and I have been photographing them as I go past. I have included a link so you can see what I mean.

I've contacted my county and city councillors, and the council itself. And the response has been silence.

    Suggestions please...

  • Parking in cycle lane by car hire

Created by Matthew Phillips // 0 threads

As the shared-use pavement on the east side of the A167 passes the Enterprise Car Hire site, there is a wide driveway leading onto the care hire forecourt which is often blocked by parked vehicles, forcing pedestrians and cyclists into the main road.

  • Carparking on Dragon Lane pavement

Created by Matthew Phillips // 0 threads

The south end of Dragon Lane has a shared-use pavement which is actually a decent width for a change! Unfortunately this means cars and vans end up parking on it. As there is so little obvious signage or paint markings, they probably do not realise they are blocking a National Cycle Network route and long-distance cycle leisure path (Walney to Wear). What's the answer? Bollards? Better enforcement? Paint?
