I'm investigating multiple reports of accidents with experienced cyclists suddenly slipping off their bikes and would appreciate knowing about anyone this has happened to recently. The common characteristics are:
Experienced cyclists.
No frost/ice on road.
Sudden loss of control of bike, wheels slipping out.
Visible residue on the road.
Injury serious enough to go to A&E.

I've had a report that one of the council's quad bikes has mistakenly sprayed diesel fuel on the section of cycleway between the Jane Coston Bridge along the side of Cowley Road down as far as junction near Milton Road.
These needs checking, but if true will be a news story tomorrow and quite an environmental problem.
