  • ramp for pedestrian bridge over Manor Rd level crossing.

Created by MB // 1 thread

A cycle ramp on the pedestrian bridge over the Manor Rd level crossing would be a great idea. Cyclists could continue their journey by crossing the bridge and ensure they were out of the way of drivers impatient to set off when the barriers rise. If done correctly, ramps would ensure that parents with buggies could also cross the bridge - getting them & their youngsters on their way & out of the pollution generated by the drivers who rarely switch off engines while waiting for the barriers to rise.

  • NCN Route 72

    Created by Rob1968 // 0 threads

As you approach the end of this particular stretch of NCN 72 past the Egger factory, you suddenly emerge onto a very busy road. This is one of the major arterial routes in and out of Hexam as it leads to and from the A69 bypass, one of the major transpennine links. It is not suitable for adults to ride on never mind young children.( I have a son aged 10)

The route leads across the main road bridge into Hexham, swings around a small roundabout by the Tyne Green park, and then brings you directly onto another roundabout by Tesco and the Wentworth Leisure Centre. It is as though cyclists have been designed out of the picture on this one. Its a shame as my son would use this route to school if it were safe.

  • Satchfield Close parking improvements

As specified in the website below there is a consultation on Satchfield Close in Henbury Bristol.
    https://www.citizenspace.com/bristol/city-development/satchfieldclose

Looks like parking is a problem for the locals as they can't seem to drive a car onto their driveways.

The council is keeping the large tree in the scheme and hopefully it will stop the inhabitant's from parking on the pavement.

  • Location Fees for Cycle Free Filming

Created by Michael Cahn // 1 thread

"Anyone who uses the racks in St John's Street, Trinity Street, and King's Parade, may have seen notices about filming this week. They're suspending cycle parking for Wednesday and Thursday 'due to the nature of the filming'. The mind boggles" (Bev)

The suspension notice (elevation, lifting?) says "We have been working with Cambridge council to achieve this. " This phrase probably means that the production company has negotiated a location fee with the city council for filming on Cambridge streets, and to film "bike free". If it is correct that the CCC represents Cambridge Cyclists, and in so far as our constituency bears the impact of this "suspension", we would be well placed to receive some compensation for the inconvenience forced upon local cyclists. 1000 £ or 2000 £ could buy us a lot of bike badges (pins), including blue ones of course
