The cycle parking at Morrisons needs improvement. It is situated at the far end of trolley park with only some surveillance, rather than adjacent to the entrance where it would receive better surveillance. The capacity is limited by the fact that only one side of the railings can be used.

A safe cycle route is needed to link Wingham with Canterbury. The current A257 road environment is not attractive for cycling, due to high motor traffic volumes and speeds.

The cycle parking provision at Whitefriars is minimal and at the periphery. Well surveilled provision is needed close to the shops that it will serve.

The cycle parking outside Faversham Pools doesn't support bicycles properly and is poor because it doesn't encourage the frame of the bicycle to be locked.

The section of the Crab & Winkle Way / NCR1 linking Westgate Court Avenue to Duke's Meadow is narrow, has sharp corners, and has poor visibility. This means that it can be difficult for cyclists and pedestrians to pass and see one another.

The eastbound cycle / pedestrian route sign at the junction between The Boundary and Cotton Road has gone missing. Thus the route directions aren't complete.
Created by Gregory Williams // 1 thread
The westbound sign at the Cow Lane / Cotton Road junction is not bifacial, thus only benefits people already cycling along Cotton Road, not those approaching along Cow Lane from the south.
Created by Gregory Williams // 1 thread
The vegetation beside NCR1 around the bottom edge of Duke's Meadow is encroaching upon the path. This is making it noticeably narrower and gives blind corners for cyclists and pedestrians approaching one another.

The small cycle sign at the Westgate Court Avenue / Fisher Road junction, part of the cycle route between Archbishop's School and Canterbury Academy, is facing the wrong direction. Thus cyclists may get lost. It should be facing south into Fisher Road for cyclists approaching along Westgate Court Avenue from past the cemetery.

A cycle barrier on the path beside the Victoria Hotel makes access more difficult for trailers and tandems.

Large cracks are forming on the path near the top of the hill. These may cause people to slip or trip. If they widen further then bicycle wheels may become caught.

When emerging from Stream Walk onto Old Bridge Road the NE-bound sign isn't visible. The sign is hidden behind a large hedge. Thus cyclists not familiar with the route may need to stop to find the sign in order to avoid getting lost.

Vegetation is reducing the width of NCR1 between Invicta Way and Thanet Way. This makes it difficult for cyclists and pedestrians to pass one another.

Public footpath CC22 would provide a good shared cycle path link between Sturry Road and Forrester Close and Brymore Road. Its location is particularly suited if the adjacent Territorial Army barracks should ever come up for redevelopment.

The retail park at Stour Crescent has some front wheel cycle parking outside of Matalan and a couple of stands located adjacent to staff car parking spaces at McDonalds. These are all situated near the far end of the retail park and aren't particularly well surveilled. Stands nearer to the shop entrances would improve the provision here.

Hawley Road (+ southern end of Castlehaven Road) runs one way eastbound and is on the north side of a small clockwise gyratory on Kentish Town Road, Hawley Crescent and Camden High Street. Hawley Road is just to the north of Regents’ Canal.
The Camden Lock area has recently been redeveloped to provide a new school for Hawley Primary as well as housing. During this development the southern footway and adjacent parking places were closed.
The scheme under consultation tidies up and widens the southern footway and permanently removes the former parking places.

Hatfield has the makings of a good cycle path network. However, the cycle path from the station to the town centre ends at the west end of French Horn Lane and fails to then connect to the University to the south or the Business Park (EE HQ, etc) to the west.
WelHatCycling are lobbying (most recently our MP Grant Shapps) to get this missing link filled. The route is shown on the map and is entirely unobstructed. The key work is a toucan crossing of Queensway, needed not only for the cycle route, but also to open up the north east end of the town centre to passing trade from people cycling and walking via the town centre.

Proposed off-road cycle path following the A323, Norris Hill Road, to link Fleet with the existing cycle-path from Norris Bridge towards the centre of Farnborough.
It would enable cyclists to avoid Norris Hill Road, an unlit road with speed limit of 60 mph. Once built it would be possible to cycle from Fleet to Farnborough without cycling on roads.
This is in the Fleet Town Access Plan ref. PC9

This is a signed cycle route from Capel St Mary into Ipswich. It used to be the A12 into Ipswich. Now it's a 50 mph dual carriageway, with little traffic due to minimal access. It would be easy to bring it down to one lane each way, and give the other lane over to cyclists with safe segregation and a wide path. Also on the south end a better link and also signage southbound to Capel St Mary and other places further south is needed.

see https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/trams/sutton-link/?cid=sutton-link
Here's the overview from TFL:
Overview
We are consulting on proposals for a new, direct and quicker transport link between Sutton and Merton. We have called this the Sutton Link.
The Sutton Link would create a high-capacity route for people travelling between Sutton town centre and Merton using zero-emission vehicles. It would connect with other major transport services into central London and across south London, including National Rail, London Underground, existing tram and bus services. It would make journeys by public transport quicker and more attractive, and reduce the need for trips by private car.
Many of the neighbourhoods along the proposed routes have limited public transport options. The Sutton Link would support new homes being built and would improve access to jobs, services, major transport hubs and leisure opportunities across both boroughs and beyond.
Our work is at a stage where we would like to know your views about three potential routes. We are considering a tram or ‘bus rapid transit’ (BRT) for the Sutton Link and would also like to know your views on this.
BRT is similar to a tram but runs on road segregated from traffic where possible, not on rails, and carries fewer people in each vehicle. A full explanation is included below in the section titled ‘About trams and bus rapid transit’.
From LCC -
general principles would be ensure this doesn’t negatively impact cycle routes, that there are good routes to the stations/stops, that any places where cyclists will be crossing tracks are designed carefully with latest materials to avoid tramlining incidents, that the space comes from private car lanes.

The roundabout at the south end of Claydon under the A14 is pretty horrible for pedestrians and cyclists. It would be extremely useful if this could be upgraded to a Dutch style roundabout with:
* tighter entrances and exits will slow down vehicles to a safer speed while cyclists and pedestrians are around. The current dimensions are only ok when there are no cyclists or pedestrians around and it's safe for motors to go fast.
* single lane entrances and exit will make is easier to cross each arm. There would be no zig zag in the island.
* cycle track with separate pavement for pedestrians outside the roundabout, thus preventing conflict between the 3 modes of transport.
* cycle track crossing at 90 degrees to the road to aid visibility between different modes of transport.

I've had a letter from the council. Not sure if someone put a copy through my door as they knew I was interested in the Fen Road, Milton, as it's dated 30th June which is over two weeks ago.
I think "suface dressing" ie loose chippings, is a totally inappropriate treatment for a road which has not that much motor traffic and rather a lot of cycle traffic. The loose chippings will be a skid and physical hazard for cyclists for months to come.

A twenty metre stretch of advisory cycle lane at the end of Whiteladies Road, from a zebra crossing to its junction with Queens Road, encourages cyclists to take a position near to the curb as they enter the and leave the junction. This puts them exposed to frequent buses turning immediately left into Queens Avenue and in a vulnerable position from which to continue a journey south west towards Park Street or Park Row.

Previously, there was an Advanced Stop Line on Kew Gardens Road (B353) where it joins Kew Road (A307). The junction was recently resurfaced, which removed the ASL markings, and they have not been replaced. I have attached a Google Streetview photo showing the ASL that was previously present.
The ASL marking was very useful, as the junction can become gridlocked in rush hour, so that only cycles can take advantage of the green signal from Kew Gardens Road without blocking the junction. Cyclists therefore need the space to be able to safely wait at the front of the queue.
It would be great if the ASL markings could be restored as soon as possible. If they have been removed for a reason, then I would like to understand what the justification is.

Very difficult to cross here, coming from Brunstane Burn Walkway to turn right towards Musselburgh.
The timing of the traffic lights seems to be such that there is almost always traffic from one direction, so one often has to wait for very long here.

The Stonecross/Avenue road junction is to be redesigned. It is rounoured there may be a ban on bikes turning right from Stonecross onto Avenue road, which makes bike journeys W-E using Avenue road difficult. It would be better to redesign the junction to allow bikes through since many people will continue to ride/use the pavement as this is a desire line route.

Canterbury planning permission CA//09/00142 includes an emergency access road, which is intended to be open to cyclists. This provides a vital link in the riverside cycle route in Canterbury. The rest of the construction on this planning application has been completed, but, contrary to conditions 12 and 13 of the appeal planning permission the emergency access link and the final portion of the cycle path have not been constructed.

Currently there are 'No cycling' notices despite this being a major cycle route.
Although it is unlikely that major works can be done to the bridge, changes on the approaches could reduce the conflicts, by improving 'intervisibility' between the different users.
A meeting between various parties (Councillors, County bridge engineer, cycling officers, and cycling campaign is proposed.

Brixton Liveable Neighbourhood aims to realise the great potential Brixton has for walking and cycling while improving air quality, reducing congestion, supporting local businesses and providing for the growth in jobs and homes planned for the area.
We successfully bid for funding from Transport for London (TfL) to deliver these aims. At the heart of our proposal is transforming Atlantic Road in the town centre, but the ambition goes well beyond this, with proposals to create ‘low traffic neighbourhoods’ in adjacent residential areas that link communities together and ‘healthy routes’ for walking and cycling. Brixton Liveable Neighbourhood is the cornerstone of Lambeth’s Draft Transport Strategy, which seeks to allow people to live healthier lives and create better places for everyone to enjoy.
This is the first stage of consultation, collecting resident and user comments about the area.
