There is a long-established cycle route via Broom Rd, lower Teddington Rd but that runs into congestion in Hampton Wick High Street. A cycle lane could join to the cycle track across Kingston Bridge. There is generally no room for 2 traffic lanes but a cycle lane + general traffic lane would fit.

Tedington railway bridge is the steepest hill in Teddington and the roundabouts make cycling at busy times stop-start. There are sections of off-road track but they pushy you back onto the road at narrow sections. What is needed is a comprehensive scheme with protected crossings of Park Rd and Waldegrave rd parallel to the existing zebras.

It's a busy ped / cycle route to school and the city centre. Yet the (toucan) crossing prioritises motor traffic hurtling past at 40mph (speed limit). Drivers frequently ignore red lights. The alignment, crossing space and phasing could be much fairer to pedestrians and cyclists using this crossing.
Newcastle City Council said this crossing is looked at, but their wheels turn too slowly.

It's a route to school and a natural route for Gosforth residents to walk and cycle into the city centre. Yet it's incredibly over-run by inconsiderate drivers, speeding and blighted by pavement parking. It's 20mph but due to its rat-run nature feels like a motorway thorough-fare. There are blind spots at the metro bridge crossings either end which are dangerous to navigate too. Drivers turning into Ilford / Rectory are also cutting corner, so you'd find a situation of an oncoming cars in your traffic lane.
Newcastle City Council have said there's nothing they can do. I don't believe that to be true. I think they are putting drivers needs before the needs of people walking and cycling.

There is an existing cycleroute linking Stanley Rd and Fifth Cross Rd via a toucan. Putting a bidirectional cycle track adjacent to the footway on the E side of Hampton Rd would tie in Wellesey Rd with Strawberry Hill station and quiet routes to Twickenham.

The cycle route from Ranelaugh Drive towards Isleworth involves crossing the footway. A dropped kerb has been provided (but no other markings) but this is frequently blocked by parked cars. A solution would be to place a bollard either side of the dropped section.

Barrack Corner
Description: New toucan crossing. No entry at Barrack Lane
Planned Start:Mid April 2014 Planned Finish Works due to last 6 weeks
Location:
Expected Disruption:
Scheme Information:
One of the projects main objectives is to provide safe and convenient crossing facilities where the town’s main pedestrian and cycle routes cross busy main roads. This new scheme will link cycle facilities to the new Handford Road/ Portman Road junction.
The main objective for Barrack Corner is to extend the Portman Road pedestrian and cycle route northwards across Norwich Road by installing a new toucan crossing at the Norwich Road / Barrack Lane junction. This will link the housing areas north of Norwich Road with Ipswich Village and the east side of the town centre. To provide the crossing at the bottom of Barrack Lane it will be necessary to prohibit all vehicles except emergency vehicles from turning in or out of Barrack Lane at its junction with Norwich Road. This means drivers will use alternative routes, therefore access to the Barrack Lane Medical Centre will be signed from the Civic Drive /Berners Street roundabout and from the Norwich Road / Orford Street junction. Cycle access to / from Portman Road would be from a footway build out, which would be protected from parked cars by double yellow lines.

Like Fossgate, High Petergate needs to be made two-way for cyclists. Otherwise cyclists travelling north are forced to either get off and walk (not an option for disabled cyclists) or join the busy St Leonard's place via a difficult junction.

Havering council said:
"We wrote to you on 21st October setting out a series of safety proposals for Romford town
centre comprising of a 20mph zone for all streets within the Romford Ring Road (including
some traffic calming measures) and some changes to road markings on various
roundabouts on the Ring Road itself.
We sent out over 2,500 letters to people in the area, but only received 8 responses with 4
of these being from residents. This was reported to the Council’s Highways Advisory
Committee on 6th December where the decision on the scheme was deferred in order for
further discussions to take place with ward councillors.
As a result of these discussions, it has been decided to provide a further period of
consultation and any other comments received shall be reported to the Highways Advisory
Committee on 7th February 2017.
We would therefore like to extend the opportunity for you to provide any comments you
may have to the postal address above, via our email address highways@havering.gov.uk
or through an online form which we have provided at www.havering.gov.uk/consultations."

Tower Hamlets Council is committed to making the borough a safer place for all road users by delivering a range of street improvements in the area; intending to benefit pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and public transport users alike.
Influencing positive changes in road user behaviour is key in providing a safe road environment for the community and although changes in road layout can’t fully resolve this, redesign of our streets can help. Therefore, Chrisp Street and the surrounding areas are currently being invested in with aims to improve road safety for the local community.
Please give us your feedback by filling in the survey (below the map). You may also like to add a comment to our interactive map of the wider area.

From the commonplace introduction:
"Waltham Forest is changing and we want you to be part of it. Thanks to a funding pot of £27 million from Transport for London, we’re delivering the Mini-Holland Programme to make our streets fit for everyone to use, whether you walk, cycle, use public transport or drive.
The Highams Park Town Centre scheme area has over 6,500 addresses and includes the area framed by North Circular Road, Hatch Lane, Woodford New Road and other minor roads. We want to make it easier for you to walk and cycle local journeys should you choose to. We also want to improve the look and feel of the area, making it an even more enjoyable place, boosting business and giving residents a sense of pride in their community."

This junction is currently very poor. Cyclists end up doing awkward manoeuvres and visibility is not good.
It is possible this could be improved as part of the Chisholm Trail.
How could this junction be redesigned to make it best practice?

Our proposals at a glance
Transport for London (TfL), together with Lambeth Council would like to know your views on proposals for improvements which will include:
To complement this scheme we have been working with Lambeth Council to develop a Low Traffic Neighbourhood in the nearby residential areas to the east of the A23. This will complement the A23 scheme by protecting local streets from through traffic and will help deliver wider objectives such as creating Healthy Routes on local roads. Visit the consultation page of Lambeth’s website from the 22 February 2020 to find out more.

Portsdown Hill Road & James Callaghan drive are a set of roads along the top of Portsdown Hill that is currently used by a lot of cyclists for commuting, touring and leisure facilties due to the forts, views and open areas around it.
As such, it's a well known tourist spot to stop for a burger or take a picnic and fly a kite.
However, being on top of an exposed hill results in significant side winds which results in cyclists being blown about by gusts, and therefore all cyclists need to take primary position on this road to give them space. As a 40mph road, many drivers have significant issues with cyclists taking primary, and therefore perform many punishment/close passes.
The affect of this on cycling in the area is many
1) More people would cycle from the surrounding areas ( Waterlooville, Havant, Fareham/Lee on Solent ) to work at QA Hospital or the businesses on the hill if there were better cycle infrastructure.
2) More people would cycle from the surrounding area & to enjoy the space & views if it felt safer to get there.

Access to QR10 from Fillyside Road requires either:
- Cycle across busy/fast road and up full height kerb
- Turn right onto busy/fast road for ~100m, turn left up dropped (but not flush) kerb
- Cycle on pavement and cross at traffic island

Westminster council are doing two important things at the moment. There is a consultation on "Oxford Street District" here: https://osd.london
The other thing WCC are doing is going to close Riding House Street with the Camden boundary at the junction of Cleveland Street by installing bollards across the road. The street has already been closed for over a year and it has had no negative impact. Camden have already done this at Fitzroy Square and Warren Street and it has been very positive. We need to do more of the same.
The issue of through traffic -- including Torrington Place -- needs to be dealt with as a matter of urgency. All areas of Fitzrovia are above the legal limit for NO2, except for Crabtree Fields open space. (Sample readings: 55 µg/m3 - legal limit is 40 µg/m3. NO2 pollution on Oxford Street east is 66 µg/m3 & on Euston Road it is 84 µg/m3.)
Camden has so far refused to entertain the two road closures I have suggested - Torrington Place and Goodge Place.
I am now going to suggest the following road closures to Camden and Westminster to make Fitzrovia "access only".
Close Goodge Street at Westminster boundary at junction with Goodge Place; close New Cavendish Street at the junction with Cleveland Street, and finally close Clipstone Street at the junction with Cleveland Street (this would also require Cleveland Street to be one-way north bound).
I believe it will not impact on access to all streets by motor vehicles for deliveries and drop-offs, etc. But it will eliminate entirely motor through traffic across the Camden/Westminster border and mitigate the effect of Gower Street northbound traffic turning into Torrington Place. This would also cut down on traffic along Grafton Way which also a victim of WEP.

There's a nice cycle route along Mount Nod Road into Hillside Road that's interrupted by a short section of path marked "No Cycling". Adding a cycle path would remove an (unsigned) detour via Faygate Road.

The footbridge has lot of steps, even though it is a shallow ramp; apparently the designers did not expect that people with bicycles, wheelchairs, buggys or trolleys might ever want to use the bridge.

The road markings at the junction between Old Dalkeith Road and Little France Cottages should be repainted. Adding a bike lane would also be an improvement.

During the refurbishment of St Mary at the Quay this section of road has been closed. The sky has not fallen on us and neither has traffic ground to ( any more ) of a standstill. In my opinion it should stay closed to MVs and just be segregated for bikes and peds.

This 7.5km route would stretch from Hackney to the Isle of Dogs via Westferry, Mile End and Victoria Park. It would connect with the cycle routes between Stratford and Aldgate and Barking to Tower Hill, as well as the proposed Rotherhithe to Canary Wharf crossing. There are currently two options in Hackney we want your views on.

South Worple Way is signposted as part of LCN 37; but the western end of it is blocked off with this obstruction; which leaves only a very narrow gap for bikes to get through. Could you get a cargo bike or a trailer through there?

Bunbury Road is busy, but road users emerging from Woodlands Park Road and Northfield Road have to play a game of chicken as they try to judge the best moment to make a rapid exit without crashing into each other. Adding to the processing overload, the following must also be taken into account by road users:
* A service road opposite Woodlands Park Road connects with Bunbury Road at this point.
* A cycle path runs from the junction down to Bunbury Gardens.
* A zebra crossing, one that many motorists (including police drivers) fail to stop for, presumably because of the processing overload.
Lacking acceleration, cyclists face a long wait either at the junction or the zebra crossing. Either way they risk being mown down by a motorist lacking the superhuman skills required to negotiate this junction safely. Since even police drivers make dangerous mistakes here, then it is clearly hopelessly wrong.
There is quite a bit of space here. I would suggest as a minimum a single lane roundabout be created, but since Bunbury Road is busy and there is already a cycle path here it should be made a proper Dutch-style roundabout. To ease the design, close Northfield Road at this point to motor traffic (Northfield Road runs parallel to Bunbury Road).

The shared access path on Colne road, on its north side, creates conflict between cycles and vehicles. The provision seems worse than using the road. The presence of commercial premises on both sides of this road make the use of a shared access path highly problematic.
More photos can be found on the campaign blog.

This is a well used route already but very muddy as there is no surfaced footpath across the playing field. A dropped kerb at the end of Noble Grove and a surfaced path around the football pitches to a dropped kerb on Parkhead Loaning would be a significant improvement. A type 1 and dust path as detailed in the attached link would perhaps be more suitable than a fully tarmacked path. Lighting at the points of entry to the grassed area would be an added benefit as this is currently a very dark route.
